Message
Welcome to the 48th Annual Ken Strong Memorial Scholarship Fund Gala Awards
Dinner Dance at the venerable University Club. This year we honor three
exemplary leaders in our industry: John P. Dorman, General Manager of
the University Club, Daniel R. Flannery, Area General Manager of the Ritz-Carlton
Hotels and Daniel G. Hope, Sales Manager of Peerless Importers.
We gather to commemorate 48 years of history and to toast another year
to the founding of this enduring Memorial Scholarship Fund. The proceeds
we raise from our yearly Gala Dinner Dance provides the capital towards
the Association commitment of $12,000.00 for three scholarships of $4,000.00
each, $5,000.00 to SOS Share our Strengths to feed the hungry and $1,000.00
to the Committee of Catholic Charities.
Tonight's celebration is extraordinary! We are celebrating our Association
and it's credo to improve standards, products and services in the Food
& Beverage Industry. Each of our members is a testimony to our mission.
Congratulations to our honorees. It is wonderful to see so many members,
colleagues, and guests here tonight to honor these worthy individuals
and for support of the Ken Strong Memorial Scholarship Fund. Many thanks.
I would also like to take this opportunity to thank the Dinner Dance Committee
and the Journal Ad Committee for their hard work and dedication. I extend
a special Thank You to the Board of Officers and Committees for their
continued support throughout the entire year.
Please enjoy the evening and the wonderful meal and fine company of your
Food & Beverage Industry friends, and join me in rejoicing over the
success of this year's Gala.
